if i say all the things to you

i always wanted too

will we come out the

same 

at the very end?

but you love me too

its no substitute,

but maybe gratitude

escapes us

so what does that say about us

if we're only learning to trust

if i'd rather be captured than free

twenty times in the morning

i'm left wondoring

where all the hope went

not until the next event

we'll bring everything back up

because we refuse to break up

in for a penny its a pound

all the bets are down

so what does that say about us

I'm not trying to be harsh but poetry is more than just saying what's on your mind. Try to be a little artistic and use rhyme, sound schemes, meter, etc.
