The Alarm ClockA Chapter by Rosalie SanterinoThe Alarm Clock can not defend itself ...The alarm clock can’t defend itself It’s hated by so many people It does what it’s told and never goes wrong Yet even as it’s obeying it’s yelled at And sometimes even thrown at the wall
It can go through the day alone and silent The most hated of thing in the Childs room Till it is hidden beneath piles of books Left to be forgotten in blackening gloom
It is relied on to keep the world on time It is shrill ringing helps the world run right Yet as the buzzing begins to ring You do anything to stop the thing
Maybe one day the world will appreciate The thing that makes sure it’s never late But until that day it just can’t be helped The alarm clock can’t defend itself. © 2011 Rosalie Santerino |
