A Chapter by Renée
"

..Sandy Hook..

"
this is the day...
 i made gingerbread houses
gingerbread houses and gram cracker trains
white icing and candies for little fingers
to fall on their homes & tickle their brains…
but news came in, early that morning
shattering peace & dreams
now lies innocent blood shed
among those gingerbread dreams
how i wish the world would stop
 this hate and anger fest
and all share ginger bread houses
& feast on candy train dreams…

One week ago...I was listening to the radio while making gingerbread houses & gram cracker trains…One cannot stop the day…but I did pause long enough, to finish a piece that had earlier started out as a joyful writing...

This poem seems like transformation of feelings, which start with joy and love of the fest gingerbread traditional cooking, and finishes with sadness. The rhymes are great and the whole poem, creates familiar emotions about something unexpected, which no one invite to come in life. so nice, Renee.

My hope is that the unspeakable horror of that day will cause meaningful change.

very innocent message and very honest sincere hope were expressed here. have you ever met someone who doesnt want peace to revail the world? i think if you ask anyone in this crazy world, they will tell you they hope peace revails the world, who makes wars then? for whom? dont you also think that humanbeing sucks?

There are too many days in life lately where we hear some horrible news and the world stops. And we know, this is one of those moments we will always remember. I am tired of having these painful moments to remember. I am with you, Renee, we need more ginger bread houses and candy trains....and far far far less ugliness in this world. My heart goes out to all the families who have suffered loss for no reason.
Thank you for sharing this, lady.
