my only valentine

i'm feeling sort of lovesick and low.

 

somewhat alone,

 

feeling rather low,

 

wishing you would call my name.

 

earlier today,

 

middle of the morning,

 

you're always there to listen

 

and you're always there to rant.

 

 

you never brag like the other girls.

 

you never b***h like the other girls.

 

you never bruise like the other girls.

 

you only bolster like no other girl.

 

 

i feel alone,

 

and you won't let me in -

 

even though you could,

 

it just won't happen.

 

do you even notice

 

the way i look at you?

 

do you even know

 

what i'm going through?

 

you're right there, but

 

you can't know what i see

 

tell me you can please

 

i need to know

 

that i'm not that amazing of an actor

 

because sometimes i fool myself

 

 

this started off an innocent little thought -

 

not about me, about others

 

it grew into curiosity

 

it grew into existing

 

 

and so it's been for everything

 

 

call me through the darkness!

 

let me know you're there

 

let me know you care

 

let me know.

 

i'm wishing you were mine,

 

my only valentine,

my one and lonely.
