Day in my Mind
A Poem by Acropolix
Care to understand.
Close the curtain of nightfall skin. Carry the sound of silence with every heart's note deeper to the soul. Cast away each purpose and reason to believe. Claw at shadows dancing on the music of tears raining down. Cage the thorns rooted in soil cursed with dying memories. Care to understand this day in a mourning mind.

But I can try to explain to you what I mean by this poem. I mean for the reader to close his eyes and shut down all senses. To be taken away from all the noises and distractions that come to us in our day to day activities. I want you to hold on to the silence within you. See the silence, the ocean of darkness in which you swim. Next, imagine the silence and emptiness to be all there is. Forget the very existence of life, of earth, of all the people we know. Only think of the dark emptiness that swirls through your mind. There is no reason, no believe, only peace and harmony. Suddenly, the darkness turns into shadows which make you cry and feel intense pain. Tears stream down your cheeks and you try to push away the shadows, but they are all that there is. The shadows come closer and closer like iron bars of a cage. And they bring memories back to you, of death and grief. Once you imagine this and feel what I describe, then you understand what a mourning mind can be like. Open your eyes and you care to understand.
