A familiar Stranger

A familiar Stranger

A Poem by Acropolix
"

You know without knowing.

"

Ever walked to school and noticed the same man?

Each morning the same coat pass which you ran?

Every day you see the same stranger walking by.

Never spoke to him, never cared to try.

Ever watch with those weary eyes?

Each morning the same shy lies?

Every day you meet the familiar face.

Never called his name, never slowed my pace.

Ever sat down in the bus with the same girl?

Each morning the same pretty pearl?

Every day you notice that for sure.

Never took a seat, never next to her.

Ever ate your lunch during the summer?

Each morning that particular customer?

Every day you saw her order the same meal.

Never joined the course, never paid her deal.

Ever dropped the opportunity to meet the unknown?

Each morning the glimpse of interest unshown?

Every day you could have met a new friend.

Never did I mind, never had the poem sent.

Very relatable!

I think this poem is about feeling some inexplicable mutual connection with some strangers. When you know that both of you are dying inside to be with & talk to each other, all you do is hold yourself back. And even after you break the ice, it's really tough to show & admit your interest to them.
