A Web of Lies

A Web of Lies

A Poem by bookworm642

A web of lies
surround my heart
I'm scared that I
will fall apart;
break down, give in
and lose this game
of who can keep up
this false facade
of pure perfection
and utter strength
no room for errors
and no mistakes;
I'm getting tired
of holding up
this fake mask
I might give up;
show my whole self
with flaws and all;
but I think I'm ready
to take the fall.

Everyone hides their true selves at times it is a natural defence mechanism only as you say it makes one false and that is never a good thing for lies only end up hurting us and the ones around us. Nicely penned, keep em' coming

This is a good poem. One thing though, "Scarfed" should probably be "scared". Great rhythm and word choice! Nice Job!

A good poem about lie. Strikes me because I just wrote a poem about lie also, yesterday. What you wrote is true. Good write and keep it up.
