Memories

A Poem by Taylor Crosby

There was a girl I once knew

She was kind, and funny, and cared about everyone

Her laugh was contagious

And her smile made me smile

Over time, she began to drift away...

               Slowly

                               Getting farther                              and farther

                              away

Why did she leave me?

That is something I don't know.

All that sweetness, all the goodness

It all got washed away

By the pressure of untrue friends

We never talk anymore

Never share the same laugh

It's as if we are two strangers

Unknown to each other

It's as if she has never known me

She has left a dark void in my heart

And it hurts.

It              hurts         more than anything               I've ever felt.

More than a punch

Or a kick.

No, it is not physical pain

It's much more than that.

The emotion in this was incredible; the hurt was almost visible. I liked the formatting as well, it added to the overall effect. Well done
