Chapter 1

Vanessa's mom is looking for her now.

 Vanessa's mom heard the scream, and ran out of the house. "Vanessa? Vanessa?!" She flew to the edge of the cliff. "VANESSA??" Her voice carried, an echo of panic through the hills. She looked down into the water. It was still and calm, quiet... As death... It couldn't possibly be happening. Vanessa couldn't have fallen. Was it possible? She ran down the steep edge of the cliff, until she was at the water's sandy edge, and jumped in.  She swam, keeping her head above the water, going under, and searching for her Vanessa. Where could she have gone? She saw a cove and swam towards it, just as a large rock seemed to fly from the top of the cliff, and onto Claire's wet head.

Author's Note

Van's (Claire is Van's mom) mom sounds like the dumb type, that never watches out for herself. Lol.
