I walk along the shore of the river, the pebbles shifting under my feet. I pick up a small, flat, smooth, grey stone and turn it over in my hands; it’s perfect.
I throw it-
One,
two,
three,
four. And it sinks.
Almost broke her record; I’ve never had the same skill of skipping as my mother. I scour the stones, my eyes flowing like the water, over the dry rocks. I find another- red, thin, fragile. Too light.
Across the river, a young girl and her mother laugh as the water splashes onto their clothes. That was us. I look down before I tear up, and find another rock. Light blue like the sky and black like pepper. I toss it and begin to walk away, stopping when I hear it skip.
A beautiful piece of heart you crafted here. On the surface, it's the ripples of life... Yet, deeper it's the longing for a memory past and the hope for the stepping stones to meet that memory again.
It's the type of ink the generates a smiles as long as a tear. Very nicely crafted!
Thank you so much for reading and reviewing, Aaron! Your comments always mean a lot to me!

Ink that lets you get lost in the moment and wander the mindroad for a while. Really good stuff I say! =)
