December

December

A Poem by Debbie

December mouths the spells

Enchants the trees to lie down against the horizon

Long and lean, suddenly freed of their greenery

They spin stories and endless fables with their sculptured bodies

Against the sky’s emptied heart

It sings to the lake until it is lulled and gleaming

Icy blue in its waiting as skaters retie their boots

Coquettishly smiling as the

the swish of the sled is herded from the hill where the pines are

softly being dusted with snowlight

It winds long ribbons of cold wind

Along the throats of the travelers

Who hurry in to firelight and hot chocolate

Bowls of chicken noodle

And red booted water bottles

One last bedtime story, one secretive kiss

From beneath the extra eiderdown

From the frayed quilt handed down….

You know December is my favorite month, as I simply love snowfall :D :D
(okay! jokes apart :D )

I found this piece very personal and intriguing, yet very vivid too! The imagery in just brilliant.
But I guess, you got to work with the flow!
But overall a great piece :)
