Saturday night,neon lights,

Hand stops me short,

check's my shoes,

Your money is good,don't spend it on the food.

N*****s and hair,flailing..everywhere,

Whisky is spilt without a care.

Door man is pissed,I guessed he missed me.. again

End of the night,as promised,a fight,

Strippers are crying,inside I'm dying.

Alone in the street,who will I meet?

My shadow,my only true friend.

He's tall and he's black and never answer's back.

Same again next week,you betcha Jack!

Goddamn it Bob, you paint such a vivid picture! What a story, told so adroitly. Each of the distinct elements of a bar night, bar fight, and your language fits the theme so well. I can't pick the best line, because they're all so fantastic, but I'll call out the last line for the fact it summarises the perpetuating cycle of life, whether self-delusion, self-abasement, or self-effacement.
