Ah! I think that the essence of Christmas is not all the parties we attend and the gifts we wrapped. We can always party, we can always give gifts. It would be nice if people do not make Christmas a reason to be spoiled despite of another person's (or communities') suffering. Ah, but it is not just Christmas. It happens all throughout the year.
A pitifully sad but true reminder of what this time of year is like. Maybe an hour in a soup kitchen would do the trick for those rushing about without a care for the multitudinous 'withouts' whose Christmas day will be yet another without hope. People are entitled to reap the benefits of hard work or/and saving, that's life for goodness sake, but at least give something without wanting to profit, just once in a while. Thanks for the firm nudge in the ribs, Bob.
