naivety

naivety

A Poem by ashley

the sweet taste of being told "i like you",

and the selfish, guilty feeling of being told "i love you."

something about innocence and naivety in a crush

compared to an eclosure of somewhat dependance & legitimisation.

forced time-passing; the naivety gone.

it was never a game, but when you tell me you love me like that, so serious, so passionate, it feels like i grew old in a matter of seconds and the games are over.

Ashley,
this is the second of your poems I've read and continue to be impressed with the rhythm and sound of your lines, I think maybe if you could look at your line breaks, so they are all about the same length? When I Read poetry aloud to my students, it was an easier task if my eyes could move easily down the stanzas.
I hate to say this, but the vast majority of "poems" I see here and on other sights are horrible doggerel. NOT yours, though, you have a very strong voice and subtle insights, if that makes any sense. Most cannot write about something personal that is meaningful to their audience, you, however, don't seem to fall into that trap... I'm off to read more...
