I was once beautiful

cherished on all corners of the earth

on very day of my birth

I was named

queen ;

princes;

duchess;

yet somehow you’ve made my name worth-less.

stripped me naked

led be to believe that I was less than perfect-

when perfection was beneath me.

crept me down the halls of desire,

taking me higher

only to watch me fall.

tooth and nail

I held on

to what I wanted this life to be

I saw clearly

yet failed to see

the truth is you’ve done nothing;

I have destroyed me.
