An Open Heart

written based on an impossible unity

If I do not think the way you do,

Can we not be friends?

If we love humans and our earth,

Then do we not share the same ideals?

Whether it is politics or religion,

Together we shall stand in unity,

For love is an all powerful thing.

No shadow will cast upon my judgement

For it is not my place to,

I seek to understand many things,

Yern to be apart of something bigger,

You are my best friend,

Let us stand for what is right

And others shall follow.

You are Catholic, I am Spiritual,

You are black, I am white,

Different as we may be,

United we stand strong,

Loving one another

For I want nothing more,

Than to be by your side.

Fight for what is right,

Fight for humans,

Fight for love.

Not what is written,

Not what you believe,

Not what you hate,

But for what you love.

With open arms,

We accept one another,

With an open mind,

We understand one another,

With an open heart,

We can love one another.
