Insanity

Insanity

A Poem by Brittany Defranco
"

A sad poem that tells what most would like to say

"

I will be okay,

Is that what you want me to say?

It is scary what a smile can hide,

Being a victim of your own mind.

I closed my eyes,

And spoke to you in a thousand silent ways,

Not knowing how many times I have cried,

You do not understand how burdened I really am.

Walk a mile in my shoes they say,

I tell them to spend a day in my mind,

The monster in my head will always find you,

And destroy you from the inside out.

Feel like you are wasting away into nothing,

Feel like everything is crushing you at the same time,

That my friend is insanity, where the madness takes over

And leaves you an empty shell of darkness.

Thank you!
many can say they understand ... but do they really?
being a victim of one's own mind, wasting away into an empty shell of darkness
so well said so well written so stark
