Mommy's Little Angel

Mommy's Little Angel

A Poem by Niki
"

I wrote this poem in 2009 after loosing a child, this was in some ways an effort to let go. I haven't written anything since I wrote this but I am hoping to start writing again

"
The first time I felt you move inside of me, you made my heart stop;
At that very moment, I knew I would love you forever.
I gave birth to you, at only twenty four weeks
we all knew it was too early, for you to make it through.
The first time I saw you; you were all wrapped up
I stuck my hand in the incubator, to touch you just one time;
you wrapped your little hand around my finger, like you knew that I was your mommy.
I finally got to hold you, but you were taking your last breath;
you had fought so long and hard, your daddy and I knew what had to be done.
I am so sorry you had to suffer, and it broke my heart to watch you go.
But I know that God took you homw with him, to let you play forever on the golden street.
I wish you could have lived, to let me dry your tears, help mend your broken heart, and hear you say I love you mommy.
I know you're in a better place, with no pain and suffuring to endure, but I wish you could be here to wrap you in my arms.
Daddy and I loved you, and we always will;
from your first breath, to your last.
You will remain in our hearts forever, and you will always be
"Mommy's Little Angel"

Reading this moved me to tears, this is one of the best poems that have ever moved me. I love such kind of writing and I am very sure Gabriel is really proud that you are his mom and looking down at you while playing on the golden street he loves you and misses you. Greatest writing i have read today. You've moved me.

This was so gut wrenching and tragic. I could not possibly comprehend losing one of my children. That's simpiy not supposed to happen. But you have done your son's memory proud with this touching tribute.
