A Poem by Jim Falcon

Be well spoken,
then receive a token
of appreciation
from a mannequin.

The man-ling falls,
but quickly picks itself up.

Minimize conscience,
Magnify contradictions,
between him and her,
and you and me.

A young heart cries for compassion.
Isolation.

Who lost?
Because nobody wins
in a race
that should never be.

A zit-ridden self esteem drowns
in seas of judgement.

Yet they give away:
Gold, silver and bronze.
Also for consolation:
Greed, spite and grudge.

The grown up defies; fights.

One becomes worthy--
a glorious man.
And the other,
an expendable.

Murder. Prosecution.
Death by hanging!
