Song for a brother

Song for a brother

A Poem by Jim Falcon
"

I'd started writing this (fictional),then suddenly, I received news of my cousin's demise.I didn't know how to take it, but I thought finishing the song was the least I could do to honor his memories.

"
The fate twister cannot believe his eyes;
until today he's never missed a clue.
A divine uncertainty lingers
since they cleared the path for you.
Hearts weep, veiled by strong eyes--
today, we say this prayer for you.
Wish, for a bigger, brighter sun
to guide you in a world anew.
We've put out candles,
and turned down lights.
We're looking forward to your light.
Your eyes watching over us--
the other end of the light.
We will drink to you.
We will sing to you.
Through your beleifs,
we'll hold on to you.
Shine, with all you knew,
and you're about to know,
our brother up above,
it's your time to shine!
You take care now,
and don't you worry--
you'll always see us,
when you look behind.
We will drink to you.
We will sing to you.
Through your beleifs,
we'll hold on to you.
We will drink to you.
We will sing to you.
There'll always be a place
in our prayers for you.
