I Have to Write

Short poem about writing anxiety

Oh, I have to write

Low hum of the ceiling fan twirling around and around

A slight breeze tickling the hairs on my arm

Tweet, tweet, tweet

Outside the birds are engaged in a lively conversation

Inside, I have to write

Staring at the naked sheet of paper

Pencil in hand

Oh, I have to write

Taking deep breaths

My chest moves up and down as my breathing quickens

A sharp pain

Am I having a heart attack?
