Sister's at the HeartA Poem by Brittney MaxwellA poem for my little sisterFrom the moment that
I met you I loved you from the
start Bouncing baby, crying
baby Sisters at the heart You said you always
wanted to be like me Being the oldest was
a chore You loved my ways, my
clothes and all that I did When I only
considered you to be a bore I ignored you, I hurt
you With so many words I
said But you always loved
your big sister Even the times when I
wanted you dead You stole my clothes,
my makeup and even knew my secrets I knew you were
interested in all that I did After long fights and
long regrets I secretly didn’t mind, you were only a kid I have never really
told you That I admired so
many little things Sarcasm, sass and
your outlook on life You really did pull
on my heartstrings We laughed and we
have fought Spent too much time
away To see how much you
have grown Makes me proud of you
every day To be your older
sister is such a gift A prize that means so
much You are nothing like
me But you have changed
my world with your touch You never really know
what family means When you spend so
much time away How much you really
need them How they can really
affect your day Take the time to show
your love As frustrating as it
may be So love your little
sisters, brothers too And one day you will
see Just how amazing your
relationships can be -Brittney Maxwell © 2014 Brittney MaxwellAuthor's Note
