Rain

Rain

A Poem by Barbara R Deraoui

When the rain comes

It cleans everything

Streets are washed

Thirsty plants turn greener

Flowers flourish

Grass grows taller

The air is fresher

Everything looks new

When the rain comes

It slows down the world

The sound is calming

Almost hypnotic

Animals seek shelter

Watching

As each drop comes

Knowing the earth is being replenished

When the rain comes

Life comes

Your words, their brevity, adds to the gentle beauty and sight of your poem. I leave, quietly, not wanting to lose the feelings and visuals you've passed on.. and on... thank you.
