The Words

The Words

A Poem by Brandon Mathis

I just want someone to hold me tight

Whisper to me that everything is going to be all right

Treat me like this is there last life

I want one night

To make me feel a little bright

Just once can I be right

I want you so close to me

You’re everything in me that completes me

Your kiss can cure a disease

Your body makes me want to dance

I’m doing the best I can

To be a good man

I hope that you can understand

I’ll always be there

Don’t you worry I still care

But there are things that are unaware

Make the next move I dare you

Don’t be scared I’ll help you make it through

We can be the lucky few

It feels like I’m getting suffocated

All the words begin to hate

I try to swallow them but it’s too late

I hope I didn’t make a mistake

Now I’ve got this funny taste in my mouth

As the words still spill out

The worries of expressing emotion is what I could get from this, though you expressed them well. Beautiful poem.
