Imagine

Imagine

A Poem by Brandon Mathis

When you think that everything is good

You imagine that what of you couldn’t

You’re stuck in the place it seems

And everyone feels like your enemy

You feel as though you have been overseen

Everyone just wants to hurt you

I can’t imagine what you been through

All of your pain and abuse

That you had to suffer through

I can’t imagine who could do this to you

Even as your life begins to fade

You still hold onto that last bit of your faith

You know that this isn’t the rest of your days

You can do it

Break through those chains

You tried so desperately to get away

I don’t want to let anyone down

I don’t want to end up

Face down in the mud

I can’t imagine being this towns’ disgust

Lay me down

Watch me slowly turn to rust

I will show you that I can make it

I’ll be a better man than you can be

You will not lose all your hopes and dreams

So keep your beliefs in me

Now you are bowing down to me

Can’t you just imagine

Love the last stanza. A complete turnaround and a good "punk rock" twist. Well done man!
