October SkyA Poem by Brandon MathisDo you really want to get me started? Do you really want to test out my heart? Do you really want me to step up and tear you apart? So don’t get in my face you won’t get far Or I will give you that once in a lifetime scar
It was the darkest of the days when you knew me All I wanted to do was to make you bleed Now you just want me to feel so incomplete I can still feel you every time that I breathe Just don’t spend the rest of our lives speechless Can we spend one day in peice
I remember back in the day It was the October cold sky Remember and capturing that memory of your face So even if I go blind Or if the light begins to fade I will always remember your face
Now I’m wrestling with my own demons Not much for me to see in I’ve lost my soul There’s a broken wall covered in a fence In the middle is a hole I guess this is the end Or maybe this is where my life begins?
I’m not running away I’m just trying to get back that October day Wrestling my demons To get a new beginning With this memory in my heart I won’t be able to fall apart I’m ready for my lifetime scar © 2012 Brandon MathisFeatured Review
