Endeavor

Endeavor

A Poem by Brandon Mathis

Please don’t fly away
I need you just for one more day
I will set you free
there is no need to try and escape
but I hope that you choose to stay with me

It is hard to say good-bye
when you don’t know?
If its going to be the last time
I want you to know you can always fly back home
maybe you don’t need to fly alone

Please stay with me
with-out you I wouldn’t know how to breath or speak
but if you do choose to leave
I hope that I will be stronger
cause this life has never felt longer
and just like that you evaporate and your gone

You said that we would last forever
now I’m left to an empty home
I close my eyes and imagine that I’m not alone
as you fly away I reach out as in endeavor
my scarred heart starves for your soul
but you simply just throw it away
as you fly away you leave me broken and severed
