Broken Home

Broken Home

A Poem by Brandon Mathis
"

Living in a broken home you don't have much of a choice but to turn to things that only bring you down even lower

"

I lived in a broken home,

all alone

wipe my tears away

so no one can see my shame

that I hide

behind these eyes

I took my drugs

to get me by

all alone

I was just high

I can’t fight these feelings

that I bare

do you really even care

this is my broken home

This broken home

made me hurt

I just want to be heard

so I write these words

Now that you realize

what I’ve hidden

what kept me driven

to those pills

that only made me ill

In a broken home,

all alone,

you are on your own

I came from a broken home myself, I never did turn to drugs but I still received a powerful message from your work man! Well done!
