Now That I'm Gone

Now That I'm Gone

A Poem by Brandon Mathis

It’s hard to say that I have to leave

Dropping down to my knees

I’m starting to sink

I’m a broken man

That you left stranded

You will never understand me

So I fade away as I leave

It was fun while it lasted

But it’s hard to live

With my world blackened

This heart ache is killing me inside

A silver lining that you can’t find

My heart is carved as it tries to shine

So I’m going to leave in search of a new life

Now that I am gone

Does your world feel wrong?

I’m trying to move on

To a place that I belong

Do you feel lost?

When I leave you

To think things through

A million pieces of me scatter on the floor

It was a matter of time

I just couldn’t take much more

My fears become reality

Do you hear me?

As I have to leave

To get these demons out of me
