No Reason Why

No Reason Why

A Poem by Brandon Mathis

In spite of me

Your world crumbles to your feet

You close your eyes so that you can’t see

But you hear every scream

Every sound brings your world dragging underground

Now it’s too late to get out

Stuck in this hell you call a world

There are so many reasons why I hurt

I try to scream but there are no words

All this pain drags my world underground

With memories of regrets I begin to drown

Another sorrow heart that gets cast out

There is no reason why

That you don’t want me to be here

There is no reason why

That you put the fear in me

There is no reason why

That you don’t answer my screams

There is no reason why

That my world is dragging underground

There is no reason why

That you won’t let me out

Some people you thought you could trust

I guess I never knew you anyway

I have had enough

You’re starting to drown me in my own blood

I try to hide the pain

Now it’s too late
