Behind Closed Doors

Behind Closed Doors

A Poem by Brandon Mathis

Waiting for heaven to fall on me

Behind closed doors

I stare at myself in the mirror

Imagine all of my fears

And hope that I get sucked through the floor

Because heaven is falling in on me

Behind closed doors

I wait for his hand to come through the floor

What am I afraid of?

I should have seen it all coming

I stare at myself in the mirror

Bad things can grow inside of you

As I see a bloody tear comes down my face

And in my stomach I begin to feel the hate

Imagine all of your fears

As you stare at your bloody tears

Embrace your shame with your own hate

Hollow shells of a man as you tear away

And hope that I get sucked through the floor

As I wait for heaven to fall on me

Stranded behind this locked door

1,2,3,4 Now he is here to take me
