TMC Carnival

TMC Carnival

A Story by Manish Bhatt

The ₹80 toll brought forth people into the mystic world of Thane. I was provided a side lane free entry. Autos commanded that much respect or maybe they were invisible. The heavy rains were lashing the city. The auto skidded on ahead while the sheet of rain drifted in. It wetted enough to keep you miserable.

A few metres ahead the mystic maze started - a labyrinth of flyovers sneaking this way and that way.

I didn’t take the first one. Moving quickly underneath it, the first shower hit us. A waterfall within the city. The mist from the road and shower from above hit me and all those on the road. Everyone would have felt as if they were at the Niagara Falls, actually under it. The enjoyment was too much.

We climbed the next flyover. The water sparkled under the grey clouds on the paved lanes. The auto took a drastic left and splashed the water on the by-passers and those who had the fortune of travelling underneath the flyover. It was joy in its purest form.

And as such the ride continued. One time at the top and one time at the bottom. Once the reason for the joy and other the recipient of the joy.

Best part of it that all of it was self-sourced. It was a movie where you were the actor and you were the audience too. Open source in its truest form.
