The Car "Home Theatre"

The Car "Home Theatre"

A Story by Manish Bhatt

So the ad began with a light melodious music one that you associate with a happy family dinner on a regular evening.

With the expectation set, the goody-goody feeling, the camera zooms out by moving upwards a family of four - father sitting cross-legged on the driver’s seat, mother on the back seat - cross-legged again - adjacent to the opposite door with a toddler on her lap, their elder son (about 6 years old) next to her - cross-legged again - (in a two dimensional space - assume compressing the car along the length - between the mother and the father) and the front passenger seat (next to the father collapsed). All of them wrapped in a warm blanket.

The music continues and the camera cuts to a front shot of the family. All of them are smiling.

Now the music gains a level in the pitch without breaking the sound quality or the rhythm and the camera cuts to a back shot. Slowly, it zooms in by moving forward to the small entertainment unit which has come to life with colours while the family blurs on the sides.

And then the “Home Alone” movie started.

Finally, after a second or so, the camera teleported to the top position again showing the family watching the movie and then a voice boomed out, “Bring the comfort of a theatre to your car without compromising the snugness of a home”.

Everything then blackens out. The ad is over.
