DamageA Poem by blushwineI wrote this in eight grade. Any feedback is appreciated.Torn roses and shattered glass cover the path
in which must be danced over with ballerina feet
by girls and boys in party gowns.
Walls stained with shadows and haunted by tomorrow tumble up
with a roar and etch their seams in the silent night.
Trembling fingers smooth hot blood on bathroom mirrors and
stain the streets with it too.
Icy lakes frozen over with swans stuck in the eclipse mirror the moon and the
neighbor's room screams with pain and shivers with images forgotten.
Tiny teeth littering the streets and lungs bleeding, crying in mourning.
Bright lights tease the stars in their electric and faux glow,
shining strong for the time they've got,
and when they're gone
The damage is done. © 2011 blushwine |
