White Rabbit

White Rabbit

A Poem by blurred
"

Another ancient poem

"
Loud- ratcheting around the scenery,
Gunshots ringing, the message very clear
With his life-threatening machinery,
So turn, tail-up, and flee from him in fear,
Is what I should do, I know, but I'm stuck
Bunny in the headlights, frozen, he won
Hear the resounding crack, I'm out of luck
Too late to duck or hide or flee or run

It hit me
You got me
It's over
You shot me.

"My own life flashed before my eyes," they say,
-It just isn't true.
Just a bright white, to a deep black, no grey
Nothing but darkness, no heavenly glow
I always knew this thing would end badly,
& I'll scream, "Hate to say I told you so."
& With those eyes, you'll look at me sadly
My tiny heart racing, you walk away.
Too scared to look back, at the mess you made,
This dramatic red blood on white display
No physical pain, I just feel betrayed

It hit me
You got me
It's over
You shot me.

Hurt, whimpering, my thoughts never leave you
& What you did to me, I can't ever forget
You did something I never thought you'd do
But what you did for me, I can't regret
You gave me a reason to keep trying
A lie to help me fight another day
You cut me so deep that now I'm dying
I wish that I could wish it all away..

It hit me
You got me
It's over
You killed me.
