LingerA Poem by blurredA poem I found on my desktop that I wrote years ago, I don't really write poetry any more but for a while I wrote a lot, I might upload other old ones I find tooAnd just to linger In a moment under your gaze Just to lay a finger.. Even just your cheek, I'd graze But that's wrong. These thoughts are malicious, Beautiful imagery, Tearing me viciously, Slowly, to pieces. Blink you away But there you are, behind my eyes, you stay, Even my delicate shield of tears Can't make your face clear from my vision. Etched into my mind, but more so, scratched in my heart, with my bare fingernails, you always have been, from the start Try to erase you, but I've failed. I've failed you. I've failed them. Sleep offers no ignorance, Dreams are worse than the real thing, We kiss, we talk, we hug, we dance, And i can't escape the feeling of desparation 'Cause, no matter how hard I try I can't shake this anymore, No matter how much I cry, I can't clear you from my core, Scarred from your touch, Burned from your breath, And though it hurts so much, You'll haunt me 'till my death.
