I hate Twilight-A sonnet

The book Twilight by Stephanie Meyer so so incredible overrated. I cannot stand ANY of it. So I wrote a sonnet!

The book called Twilight is about a girl

Who is dependent, needy weak as well

Her undead boyfriend makes me want to hurl

Their vapid romance is based on her smell

 

She knows him for a few months and declares

That they are soulmates destined 'till the end

She asks him to convert her, she prepares

But he refuses and he will not bend

 

He's senior to her by a good few years

But it's okay because he's really hot

The logic of a fangirl rarely clears

They fail to see all that this book's not

 

This Edward Cullen and this Bella Swan 

Should really go away and please stay gone!

You know, it may not be great literature, but if it gets young people to get out and read, I am all for it.
I'll admit I enjoy the series.
I hate how blown out of proportion it has become, but that can happen with anything.

I may be a bit of a 'fangirl' myself, but I am certainly not an idiot.
Please, don't insult people for their interests.
There's a reason why there are so many genres of literature out there,
And everyone's got his or her preference.
Twilight just happens to be my guilty pleasure. ^.~

It's hard to find non twilight people.
Everyone seems to think it's the best vampire book around.

Ever read Vampire kisses? That book is good. To me at least.
And Ann Rice is the best at writing about Vampires.

Haha, this made me laugh. I actually just had a conversation about Twilight today, with a friend of mine at work. She reads the series, but she's one of the few people I know who's able to read a book and enjoy it, all the while admitting that it's really not good literature by a long shot. I myself have never read Twilight. The people whose opinions I respect concerning literature tend towards your point of view, and there are simply too many books to read in the world for me to want to waste time on bad ones (even if they are amusingly bad). Anyway, I'm always wary of stories that give away major plot points in the summary of the novel. Seems to me to be in very bad taste.

And I just have to add, I love your use of such a traditional form to say something so modern and amusing. I don't think I've ever heard a comedic sonnet before--it was a nice change of pace. ^_^
