Worth So Much More

Worth So Much More

A Poem by Kaitlyn
"

This is about how women are objected where I grew up.

"

Honks and Whistles from the cars that drive by.

She knows she is worth more on the inside

but she doesn't know how to show it.

Shes only seen as a piece of meat

and nothing more.

She doesn't know how it feels to have real value,

Guy after guy just wanting more,

they don't want to get to know her.

They only want to pay her.

She keeps telling herself that they will respect her for giving it up

but at the end of the day,

she knows

she is worth

so

much

more.

I can relate in a way because so many guys treat me like that every day. If you'r a guy then you need to know that sometimes girls need more than a slap on the ass and a "your hot".

I'd like to say that it gets better as you get older, but that's not always the case either. To some extent we are treated by the way we are perceived, and, in some ways we can change this perception, by changing our behavior, but, at the same time, we need to be true to ourselves, and be who we are. As trying as it is to feel like you are being objectified, they're will always be those, who actually wouldn't mind being called, hot, at least, once in a while. Very complicated, isn't it. Sounds like you have your head screwed on tight, and your feet are planted firmly on the ground. Kaitlyn, this was a nice poem, and yes, you are worth more. And, I hope you never forget it.

This can go both ways. The girl tries to keep her dignity in the face of male disrespect. Or the disrespect is justified and the girl doesn't have respect for herself so she lies to herself to make it all bearable. I like it because to me it leaves that question open to interpretation.

so many times its easy to think that all guys are all eyes and rudeness, no gentlemen exist anymore, but it's not true. We have to keep beleiving that there are decent guys out there that overwhelm the brutes that we are subjected to every day. This poem was honest and I respect it, go you!

Sad fact but lots of men do think that way. Kick them in the nuts til they stop getting up, see if it reaches their tiny brains.

This piece speaks volumes, and it is indeed true. It's a shame that our culture has turned into something like this, but it has, and I commend you for being able to write about it.

omg kaitlynnn.
i love this poem, and it is soooo true these days. its disgusting and irritating how guys treat women. i guess that they think we are only good for one thing. UGH i hatee guys for the 5 trillionth time aha. im sick of being there little trophy! no women should have to be represented or treated like that. on the other hand, if girls ask for it like some we know, he guys know they can take avantage. we need to stick together because we know what is wrong and what is right. im sure if e kick the perverts in the balls over and over they might get a clue. you are 100000000000000000000000000000000000 times better then what some guys treat you as. i love youu!

I'm afraid our culture isn't helping much along these lines through what is portrayed in the media. And so many woman who are worth so much more simply settle because they don't realize just deeply valued they really could be. Thank you for the insightful depth of your words...
