i would have died, had i not been namedA Poem by blueviolin
i am dusk
my belly is full of shadows and silhouettes that tremble when i laugh come sit with me near the mountain never climbed there we can speak of truth follow the sun's example pour everything that burns into the deep cut of the horizon place your knees upon rocks that jab pay attention to silence - it will soon be broken beyond repair i would have died, had i not been named but my name is a mystery it is the plaything of whispers it sits on my tongue before i swallow and fine-tunes the rhythm of my breathing the rivers are calling out to me in hushed and excited voices they speak of what the oceans tell of children that hide under the skirts of the Pacific names even the waves have heard of by hearsay and i am interested in hidden things for i am not morning in the east or the place where one reads i am dusk until my name rises like the sun over the landscape of my tongue and brings light to the words that flower in darkness © 2013 blueviolin |
