A Promise UnkeptA Poem by Her Beautiful MelancholyA poem I wrote for a friend just because of her lies and unkept promises that nearly cost our friendship.
You left me a wound,
A promise unkept. Pretending you did nothing, You went on with your precious life. Your lies kept us apart Our friendship seemingly broken Just like that. Sounding so sure Nobody would know Making them think You're such an innocent girl. Well, I don't care. I won't even stare. I won't waste my time to bear All the hurts I have put aside Just for me to give a chance At a, perhaps, forgotten lie. You left me a wound, A promise unkept. Pretending you did nothing, You went on with that ridiculous lie. -beautifulmelancholy- © 2011 Her Beautiful Melancholy |
