Ending: Chapter Eighteen

The pack goes on a hunt, which ends in catastrophe.

Sparrow rolled his eyes as the pack argued behind him about hunting.  He chose to ignore them, but for once in his life, he wanted to scream at them and tell them to leave if they were going to keep arguing over things that he had told them they were going to do no matter if they liked it or not.

"Shut up," he muttered icily under his breath as they approached the mountain.  Sparrow had not hunted dall sheep in several months, so he planned to quickly.

This was the permafrost mountain.

Sparrow turned around to face his pack, glaring at them with pure annoyance.  "Do me a favor," he said thickly, "and stop fighting for two seconds!"

The pack was silent.  Sparrow was satisfied.

"I told you we're hunting dall sheep, so... let's do it," Sparrow said, his eyes narrowing as he looked at the wolves in front of him.  "The elk carcass didn't do us much good, and there was barely any left of it, anyway.  So... we'll go around the other side of the mountain, because the dall sheep are back there."

"We've never been around that side of the mountain," Sapphire said quietly.

"That doesn't matter, Sapphy," Sparrow said flatly, ignoring Sapphire's snarl.  "We'll be fine..."

He didn't know what he had gotten himself into.

Sparrow and some of the pack - he told the others to climb up the other side and get to the dall sheep - reached the other side of the mountain, and Sparrow looked up at the top of the mountain, rather shocked.

Although the other side of the mountain was perfectly fit for summer, this side was covered in a thick layer of snow and rock.

Sparrow watched the dall sheep stand on top of the mountain with his mouth agape and his eyes wide.  He hadn't been expecting this, and that was for sure.

Now...

The dall sheep saw the pack standing below the mountain, appearing unconcerned.  What they didn't know was the rest of the pack was right behind them. 

"Now!" Sparrow yelled.

The rest of the pack burst out from behind the dall sheep, and the dall sheep became instantly frightened, stampeding down the mountain.

There was no way out.

That was when the chaos began.  Right as soon as Sparrow saw the snow begin sliding down the mountain, he screamed at the top of his lungs.

"RUN!"

No way out...

No way out...

The avalanche sped up rapidly, flowing down the mountain faster and faster as the seconds passed, entangling the wolves and sheep with it.  It hit the ground hard, pounding Sparrow and flipping him and the rest of the wolves over, and the avalanche spread over top of them, burying them for what would most likely be an eternity.

Sparrow's head hit the ground.

OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My heart started pounding really fast when i read the permafrost mountain thing. and i realized what the f**k you were going to do!! ohmygod i never expected a f*****g AVALANCHE!! Out of all the things, I never thought of that even when you mentiuoned the permafrost in that one chapter. *bangs head on table* i am such a f*****g idiot!!!! i should have f*****g guessed!!!!! IM SO RETARDED.

But any f*****g way. THIS MEANS I MIGHT BE RIGHT ABOUT HOW SPARROW GETS HIS SCAR. :D yay me. but but but OHMYGOD. my heart is like....yeah. and my stmach is churning. which wolves died!??! WHICH. F*****G. WOLVES. DIE?!?!?!? IM SO EXCITED. I cant even think straight to do an actual review.

I LOVE YOU SO F*****G MUCH RIGHT NOW. LIKE OHMYFUCKINGJESUS!!! [nh]. I love this. it was awesome how suddenly it happened. and dont worry i wont kill you... depending on who dies. hurricane? nah, i couldnt get that lucky. xD i cant belive the moment ive been waiting for for F*****G MONTHS is finally so f*****g close.

Um anyway. the parts in italics were really suspensful even though this chapter was really short, and i love it. and the whole pack was telling him no, and he was like we'll be fine. which kinda gets you thinking that they WONT be fine. but... yeah. THIS IS EPIC. AND I CANT WAIT FOR THE NEXT CHAPTER. IT IS GOING TO BE MORE EVEN MORE F*****G EPIC!!!
