Molecular Business

Molecular Business

A Poem by blueampersand

The needle dances in the electric
zephyr of light
Does this make sense, dear? No
it doesn't but hey,
it runs in the family
you would know it's only the
half of me which is you
the half of me that's always high
and pins the blame on my body
the half of me with blue eyes and
pale face and
a fondness for endless word
combinations dancing again
again
again on that needle
you know
it features a lot in this places
the genes? or is it really just
molecular business
endlessly useless
(I follow in your footsteps
Proud of me?) oh dear
I forgot to turn off the heat
again
again because of that needle
infested with all the disease that
runs in my blood
your blood
our blood and twisted veins
like our mind...

Heating's off, now
I let the cold engulf me
just like you told me to

Blame my body
and every part of it that
looks like you.

Don't worry,
one day I'll have plastic surgery
let them insert plasticine soil
and have every half of me that
is like you
erased
washed out
forever.

Now there's a happy ending I can
believe in.
