Where We Belong

Where We Belong

A Poem by MelLM

"Be happy," I say.
"All will be well."
I hope that we're right
As we enter the gates of Hell.

At least we are living
At least we have each other and our thoughts
At least we are still human
At least they will not be here long

As we must go our separate ways,
I think of you
And I hope you are safe
I wish I already knew

I will see you again tomorrow
And again for days to come
Purgatory wasn't for us
So perhaps Elysium is the one.
