A Haunted Life

A Haunted Life

A Poem by MelLM

Broken bells are ghastly chimes
Bellowing for the dead to come back to life
A creak I hear
An alluring croak
A terrifying howl

The wind calls me into the midnight air
The voices of demons everywhere
Screams become white noise
Reality is my new fear

A haunted life I fear I lead
Perhaps it is my destiny
My fate spirals through my empty veins
Though I feel alive, simply my skeleton remains.
