exploring a darker side I didn't know I had

The Beast

As I lay here in the darkness
the voices fill my mind
they are completely controlling
no matter how hard I fight

They fill my mind with darkness so sweet
I can't resist
It wraps my body tightly and holds it captive
It covers me seductively with pleasure
the red begins to flow

I try to fight these feelings
I think I will explode
please pray for the sinners
for now I must go

But in the morning hours I ache to be redeemed
A glimpse of some salvation to stop
the ugly beast

this was a dark side that was new for me would be great to hear some crical feedback

I have a dark side as well-well the poetry I have written over the years has proven that-in some respects if one can control his dark side and express it in poetic forms they have the makings I think of a great writer-Look at Poe-he wrote amazing Horror stories for his time-explored his dark side. Another one is Stephen KIng who in writing Horror fiction has scared a lot of people over the years-well done in expressing your thoughts

[Lady Of Darkness]

I have explored the dark side of myself which sometimes shows in my poetry. In order to go back towards the light you have to go through the darkness. I like how the first stanza shows what your dark side is about, lots have been through the same thoughts you have.
