The girl in the Mirror

The girl in the Mirror

A Poem by blue2u

In the wee hours of the morning when everyone is sleeping is the only time you can be your true self  the one,  you must keep locked away from the world.  Your whole life is a movie and you are always having to perform..you are one way for your partner, one for your parents, one for your friends, but nobody really knows the true you the one you hide deep inside, locked away; you buried her along time ago along with all the hurt and sadness and pain that you have to hide everyday when you are on stage.

But she is always there in the background trying to breakout, Oh when you were younger you could shut her up with booze or pills. Then there was always work to keep you distracted, but why doesn't she just leave you, so you can be happy. It is emotionally draining keeping her locked away, making her leave your thoughts alone. But you are an actress and you do this everyday, get up put on your smile and say everything is o.k.

But the hours are getting longer and the pain is leaking through, they have little helpers to take the edge off right all the drs prescribe them to shut out the voices in your head. One day though..oh, one day you'll have to confront the real you and that day I pray for you, for the girl looking back in the mirror is YOU
