My Country

My Country

A Poem by bludrgnone

As we stand divided
we fall one by one
and the unseeing,
they turn their heads
because that's what they
are told to do
and we, who see ~
our vision so violently scorned,
are burned and beaten
broken and torn.
This, supposed to be our homeland,
our country for the free...
This, supposed to be our security,
what kind of nation will we be?
I hang my head in shame,
where is the freedom of speech?
What happened to standing up
for what we believe?
Our babies go away to war to die,
some, so blessed to get them back ~
so they can be murdered, by our own,
on their own soil.
There was an 8 yr term
that cut us in half
blinded some, opened others eyes
my God..
can you not hear our peoples cries....
