Driftwood
A Poem by
Katie
A poetic lyric of a lonely journey
Where is the river That flows high above the night? Gone to the reeds Looks like I'll be here for some time Home is the sea Where I drowned for inner peace The light I feared came around Took my joy and pulled me down Then I woke and spoke of the lost years Self belief flew me high above the weeds Nigh is the flowers That had kept my soul in bloom Then birds became my promise Before driftwood took me to the moon
