A Little Off.

A Little Off.

A Story by Megan
"

More like a little note on a girl who feels she is never enough. Didn't know what to put this under, since none of the categories really seemed to fit, so it's just under short stories.

"
Her eyes began to tear. She realized she was never enough. Her love was nothing he was looking for and her bright, shining smile couldn't brighten his day. Her words of comfort couldn't stop his pain, couldn't help him in his time of need. What was she missing? She thought she was good enough for him, she thought she could give him a love that would last. A selfless love that would give him happiness in a river of sadness. Now she realizes that her love was never what he was looking for. Her encouraging words could never be enough to cradle him when he was feeling down. And her shining light couldn't penetrate into his darkness. Why couldn't she affect him the way other girls did? Why couldn't she affect any guys the way other girls did? She believed in herself, had confidence in her beauty, in her light, in her ability to love (well, sort of), so then why couldn't she attract a guy? What about her made her so unapproachable, so unlovable to men? Was it her height that intimidated them? Was it her face or body that wasn't pretty enough which kept them away? She could honestly say that she didn't have any clue. She wondered what made her so different. And she wondered why it was so hard for her to make lasting friendships. Even when she goes out of her way to make people smile, to brighten their day, it is never enough.

She wipes the tears from her face, recalling a memory, a quote if you will. "You only need one man's attention...." the quote said. Oh, how true she found that saying. And how much she agreed with it. But when would her 'time' come? Would she ever be enough for anyone?

Would anyone just love her for who she is.........?

Oh man....I love this and agree. "Her love was nothing he was looking for and her bright, shining smile couldn't brighten his day. Her words of comfort couldn't stop his pain, couldn't help him in his time of need." I absolutely can relate to that part, specifically. This entire story I can relate to, but that part especially. I think sometimes we feel that we're not enough, when really, we're just not the right person for them, maybe. I don't know, it's just a theory.
