The Wind

The Wind

A Poem by Megan

The Wind

Tangible yet intangible-

caressing my neck,

grazing my cheek with the palm of its hand.

Weighted yet weightless:

It whips at my face,

pushes me back in one single swoop.

Visible yet invisible-

swaying the trees around me,

twirling the leaves within Its movement.

Olfactory yet unscented:

It lines my nose with foul fragrances,

the bitter smells scratch my senses.

Tasty yet bland-

drifting pollen landing on my tongue,

the sweet sticking of snow.

Loud yet silent-

whistling a tune with soft breaths,

playing my ears like harp strings.

Whether aggressive or passive

stormy or calm

obvious or inconspicuous,

the Wind

is always

felt

seen

smelled

tasted

heard.

It is always

there.
